Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to BoardRivals, including the iOS app and the privacy-policy page used in connection with the app. It covers information you provide directly, information created through your use of the app, and limited technical data collected to keep the service working securely.

What We Collect

Depending on how you use BoardRivals, we may collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: your name, email address, encrypted password, and account identifiers.
• Sign-in information: if you choose Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the basic profile details and unique account identifier made available by that provider.
• App content you create: competition names and descriptions, contestant display names, recorded plays, collection items, and collection tags.
• BoardGameGeek import information: if you choose to import a collection, we process the BoardGameGeek username you enter to request your owned games from BoardGameGeek.
• Technical and security data: session data, authentication tokens, IP address, browser or device user agent, and application logs used for security, debugging, and service reliability.

BoardRivals does not use your data for third-party advertising, and the current version of the app does not request access to your precise location, contacts, camera, microphone, or photo library.

How We Use Information

• To create and manage your account.
• To authenticate you and keep your session active.
• To provide BoardRivals features such as competitions, collections, contestants, play history, and leaderboards.
• To look up board game data and import BoardGameGeek collections when you request those features.
• To maintain app performance, troubleshoot issues, detect abuse, and protect the security of the service.
• To comply with legal obligations when required.

How Information Is Shared

BoardRivals does not sell your personal information.

Information may be shared only in the limited situations below:

• Authentication providers: Apple or Google may process sign-in information when you choose those login methods.
• BoardGameGeek: when you search for games or import a collection, requests are sent to BoardGameGeek to retrieve game or collection data.
• Service operations and legal compliance: information may be disclosed if reasonably necessary to protect the app, enforce terms, prevent fraud or abuse, or comply with applicable law, regulation, or valid legal process.

Data Retention

BoardRivals keeps account and app content for as long as your account remains active or as long as needed to provide the service. Technical logs, sessions, and tokens may be kept for shorter periods based on operational and security needs. If you request deletion of your account, BoardRivals will delete or anonymize personal information unless it must be retained for legitimate security, fraud-prevention, or legal reasons.

• Request access to the personal information associated with your account.
• Request correction or deletion of your information.
• Ask questions about how your data is handled.

To make a privacy request, use the privacy support email link. For account deletion requests, please send the request from the email address associated with your BoardRivals account when possible.

Children's Privacy

BoardRivals is not directed to children under 13, and BoardRivals does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through BoardRivals, contact the privacy support email link so the information can be reviewed and removed if appropriate.
